The Belgian team (Kris de Jonghe, Pierre Hellin and Sebastien Massart) is pleased to share the first confirmed information for the next ICVF conference.

Location: Liège, Belgium
Dates: from Monday 6 September evening to Friday 10 September morning - 2027

 

We are very much looking forward to welcoming the ICVF community to Belgium, and hopefully with better weather than during the COST meeting in 2018 (for those who participated 😊).

 

The program will include the usual scientific formats, such as oral presentations and poster sessions with field visit, but we would also like to introduce some more interactive activities to stimulate exchanges between participants, for example (to be confirmed):

• World Café discussions on hot topics

• Virathon — inspired by a hackathon, focused on data mining (VIRNET transnational project)

• “Bring Your Failed Experiment” session

• « Ask the Senior » targeted exchange

• Controversy Wall, with statements displayed during the conference, commented on the wall and discussed in a dedicated final session

 

We also plan some optional social activities during late afternoons/evenings, including:

• Historical guided visit of Liège city centre

• Adventure/fun activity around Liège

• Gala dinner

 

So, you can already fix the dates in your agenda, more news will come soon.

THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT:

​

During the business meeting of the 25th International Conference on Virus and other graft transmissible diseases of Fruit crops, 9-13 July 2023, Wageningen, The Netherlands, it was decided that the 26th ICVF conference should take place in 2027, thus after a four year period. Reason to skip the preferred interval of three years was to avoid an overlap with the  21st conference of the International Council for the Study of Virus and Virus-Like Diseases of the Grapevine in Napier, New Zealand, March 2026.

 

A location for the 2027 meeting was not selected at the ICVF conference 2023.

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT:

The second announcement (here) is out for the 25th International Conference on Virus and other graft transmissible diseases of Fruit crops (ICVF2023), 9-13 July 2023, Wageningen, The Netherlands.

 

Registration and abstract submission are open. Hotel reservations at reduced rate are available using a block code. Please see our web site for more information (https://www.plant-virology.nl/ICVF2023).
